Nimaya Organizes Flood Relief Camp in Konaseema, India
Technology Firm Distributes Cooking Utensils and Cloths to Flood Victims
Hyderabad, India, August 21, 2006 – Nimaya, a leader in Integrated Customer Management (ICM) software applications, today discussed the assistance provided to the victims of the flooding that plagued portions of the Konaseema region. Over the weekend, employees of Nimaya Technologies assembled a flood relief camp in the areas of Sanapalli Lanka and S. Mulapolam villages in Konaseema where recent floods of Godavari River have rendered thousands of people homeless and deprived them of basic necessities for living. Nimaya’s employee volunteers have distributed cooking utensils and clothes to about 250 families, reaching over 1500 affected people.
Prior to organizing this camp, the Nimaya team had contacted several senior people from these villages including Sri Satya Sai Babu – President, Gram Panchayat - S. Mulapolam, Smt. Usha Kiran – Mandal Development Officer, Inavilli Mandal, Sri M.V.V.S Murthy – Ex-Member of Parliament and a native of S. Mulapolam village to learn about the immediate needs of these villages. Based on their recommendations, families that needed immediate assistance were identified and the assistance package was distributed under the direction of Sri Satya Sai Babu, and other leaders of the village. The assistance package included cooking utensils, plates, glasses, spoons, blankets, saris, pants and shirts.
A senior member of Nimaya’s management team shared his thoughts on this tragedy and his company’s efforts to assist the affected, “after visiting the flood ravaged areas, we really felt the impact of this natural calamity. Sitting in Hyderabad and watching the television news does not do this tragedy justice. Even though the intensity of Godavari water flow has decreased, several roads and houses in this area are still under water. While walking on the roads overflowing with foot-deep water, we really felt the force of nature, first-hand. We can imagine how it must have felt two weeks back when this flood had first hit the area.” Said Mr. Krishna Kadali, Director of Nimaya Technologies, Hyderabad.
Speaking at the flood relief camp, Smt. Usha Kiran, Mandal Development Officer of Inavilli Mandal says “We need more such people and organizations to come forward and help the affected people. This area has been drastically hit and needs a lot of help to recover from it.”
Nimaya is committed to helping the community through our service programs and plans to organize additional such camps in future to assist the people in need, at the time of need. Additionally, Nimaya employees have joined together to participate in a variety of charities year-round, including fund-raising for local charities and assisting the elderly.
